When a massive cataclysm 107 years ago destroyed the moon and shattered it into 81 quintillion tons of orbital debris, super science helped save the earth. At the Mondenkind Agency, Haruka Amami and a group of other girls wanting to be singing idols, audition for something called the Idolmaster Project. They discover that they have all been selected as candidates to pilot an IDOL, an advanced robot designed specifically to intercept falling chunks of moon rock still threatening the earth.
