By nuking bananas in a microwave into a gelatinous version of the future or past, Okarin proves his device is a time machine. When he sends text messages through time to his friends and people he knew, his tampering with the time-space continuum attracts the attention of the nefarious clandestine organization SERN. So he creates a top-secret future gadget lab to stop them and not only protect his friends, but possibly even save the world.
