Moving from a big city to the country town of Inaba to stay with his uncle and cousin, Yu Narukami is expecting a lot of peace and quiet, not for his police detective uncle's job to spill over into his life or for the strange murders afflicting the town to be linked to Yu's experiences, including a mysterious TV show's attempts to have him become a part of their world. Soon Yu and his new friends plunge into a bizarre alternate reality, where they gain unique abilities that will either help solve the riddle of a mysterious killer or lead to doom.
